Bety Krňanská is an artist whose work oscillates between painting and object, with the two modes of work often interpenetrating one another.
In her non-painting objects, she uses a diverse range of materials and techniques, which she gradually sorts, refines, and in some cases even excludes from her repertoire. Textiles, metal, beeswax, as well as digital printing and new technologies all make an appearance. In addition to this position, the artist works as a classical painter using canvas and acrylic paints. Her abstract paintings do not lose touch with the world around us but are derived from its concrete forms. They are intertwined with the visual specificities of urban life, popular culture, typography, advertising visuals, decorative motifs, and fragments of architecture.
